Important Information

Prescriptions

Prescription renewals should be done when you are seeing your doctor. There is $20 fee for prescriptions written without an appointment. This fee covers the administrative costs as this service is not covered by OHIP.

Appointments

If you cannot keep an appointment, please notify us at least 24 hours in advance so that another patient may have the opportunity to see the doctor. Remember, if you cancel an appointment without sufficient notice, you may be charged by the doctor for the visit time not used. The amount could be from $40 to $150.

Health Insurance

We are members of the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). Your health insurance card needs to be checked at every visit as required by the Ministry of health. If you do not have insurance coverage, you will be billed directly for the service provided.

Welcome to give us your mobile phone number or work number and your pharmacy name and location. We also accept your email address even at this point we are not accept any emails.

Referrals

You must see a physician before a referral to a specialist can be made.

Test Results

We receive many laboratory and X-ray reports every day; therefore it is not possible to notify each patient of the test results. You will be contacted directly about any abnormal test results or results that require a follow-up appointment. It is your responsibility to give us your correct phone number and address to insure that we can reach you! If you have any questions about your test results, please make an appointment with your doctor as we do not give test result information over the telephone without your doctor’s approval.

Our Telephone System

We prefer to see all patients by appointment. Our well trained staff will try to accommodate every emergency to ensure that you see your own doctor or another available physician. To make an appointment, please call the office at 613-544-2727 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:45 p.m., Monday to Friday. There are six appointment lines which are answered in sequence. You may choose to either stay on the line to have your call answered in the order it was received or leave a message. Please listen carefully to the telephone instructions.

Messages may also be left whenever the switch board is closed. We check the messages regularly throughout the day and first thing each weekday morning.

After Hours and Weekend Calls

A physician is always on-call after regular clinic hours and on weekends, including holidays. If you are experiencing urgent medical problems, please telephone our answering service at 613-507-3108. Your message will be given to the physician on-call and you will be contacted as soon as possible.

Non-Urgent message may be left by calling 613-544-2727.

If you are an enrolled patient, there is a register nurse at THAS on duty after regular clinic hours and on weekend and holidays. Please call 1-866-553-7205. It is very important to enroll with your physician. Ask our receptionist how to enroll with your doctor if you have any question.

Non-Insured Services

There are services that are not covered under the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP) such as completion of medical forms for employment, legal or insurance purposes, and transfer of medical records to another physician, some injectable medications, contraceptive devices and various bandages and dressings. Before any non- insured service is performed, you will be notified of the cost.

For your information, a listing of non-insured service and fees is posted throughout the clinic.
